Age is just but a number and Rufinus Arap Taa has proved just that. The 78 year old man defied the odds and registered for the KCSE exams that kicked off on Tuesday country wide.
Taa is among 39 candidates sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination at Korabariet Mixed Secondary School in Nakuru County.

Index 50459575035, the grandfather to many said that he had dreams of completing form four and he worked hard to achieve that. Aided by a walking stick, Taa walks to his seat and is given a question paper which he peruses carefully before tackling. Full of joy, the octogenarian looks composed. He writes the answers and completes just in time before the bell rings.

Speaking to the media, Taa explains that at last his dream has come true. He adds that he is adequately prepared to face all the subjects and he hopes to join University of Nairobi to study medicine.

Taa is confident that despite his poor memory he will do well saying that he understands English perfectly.  To him the Kiswahili paper was fair enough and he hopes to bag a good grade. He concludes by thanking the teachers who have been very supportive to him.
