Mombasa, Kenya: Mombasa County
inspectorate police arrested six
Tanzanian men allegedly involved in
trafficking disabled people into the
town from the neighbouring country.
Police said the suspects place the
disabled people on the streets to beg
for money, which they collect at the
end of the day.
The six men were arrested alongside
six physically challenged beggars,
including two children aged five years,
in a one-bedroom house at Mwembe
Tayari in Mombasa.
According to Mombasa County deputy
inspectorate officer Swaleh
Mwamlevi, the move comes after
several complaints were received.
