Kenya ranked 2nd least corrupt country in East Africa

Friday October 25, 2013 - A survey by Transparency International (TI) on East Africa Bribery Index 2013, has ranked Kenya the 2nd least corrupt country in East Africa after Rwanda.

Uganda was ranked the most corrupt country in East Africa followed closely by Burundi, Tanzania and finally Rwanda, which is the least corrupt, at fifth position just behind Kenya.

Here is the order from the most corrupt to the least corrupt countries in East Africa;-

1.       Uganda

2.      Burundi

3.      Tanzania

4.      Kenya

5.      Rwanda

On the Kenyan front, the Kenya Police still topped the list as the most corrupt institution in Kenya.

Here is the list of the 5 most corrupt institutions in Kenya from top to bottom


1.       Kenya Police

2.      Lands Ministry

3.      Judiciary

4.      Registry and Licensing services

5.      City and Local councils.

The report indicates bribery is still very rampant in Kenya with only 7% of Kenyans able to report bribery incidences.
