Kirinyaga County Governor Joseph
Ndathi has called for refugees living
in Kenya to be repatriated, claiming
they are a threat to national security.
Mr Ndathi said the refugees
harboured members of al-Shabaab
who were terrorising Kenyans in
various parts of the county and should
therefore not be sympathised with.
"The refugees know where they came
from and their governments should
put their countries in order and be
ready to receive their people and
protect them," he said on Saturday
during a prayer meeting held at
Wang'uru Stadium.
The Kirinyaga Council of Elders had
convened the meeting to pray for
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his
Deputy William Ruto. The elders
called for the ICC cases facing the
leaders to be halted. (READ: Kirinyaga

Mr Ndathi said terrorists had hidden
themselves in refugee camps and
were planning attacks on innocent
Kenyans, claiming the refugees
usually abused Kenya's hospitality
and "should leave as soon as
possible."
Mr Ndathi called on the national
government to make arrangements on
how to repatriate the refugees.
Mr Ndathi also called on the police to
investigate the ongoing Kidnappings
in Kirinyaga, saying the crime wave
was scaring investors. (READ: Fear as

Some of the victims have been killed
by the well-organised gang.
